Kanye West Starts Lecturing Design Students at Harvard
Probably not, but the rapper, 36, did stop by Harvard's School of Design Sunday, in advance of his "Yeezus" concert in Boston, to address a packed lecture hall as part of the "DONDA Design Lecture Series," E Online reports. "I really do believe the world can be saved through design," said West, in a video from his lecture that was posted on Facebook. West further surprised the Harvard School of Design office by giving them free tickets to his show. DONDA is a creative design company started by West in 2012, and named after his late mother, Donda West, "which will galvanize amazing thinkers and put them in a creative space to bounce their dreams and ideas," West wrote on Twitter last January.
The singer surprised students with a lecture about his unique way of perceiving design and art. The well-known rapper gave a so-called motivational speech to Harvard's design students while promoting his company DONDA and his current tour, of course. Through DONDA, West is planning to change the world, focusing on art and design. The artist's speech at Harvard was just the first from a series of lectures meant to give students information about his company and maybe a boost of motivation as well, because the the world can be saved through design, and everything needs to actually be architected. DONDA, named after Kanye's late mother, was created in January 2012 with the purpose to dream of, create, advertise and produce products driven equally by emotional want and utilitarian need..
